Dr. Steven John Holochwost is an accomplished composer, child advocate and researcher. In addition to serving as a Research Associate with WolfBrown, Steven is Associate Director of Research at the Early Learning Center and Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Delaware. Prior to assuming his post at the University, Steven served as Assistant Child Advocate and then as Senior Assistant Child Advocate with the Office of the Child Advocate for the State of New Jersey. His work with WolfBrown centers on youth-focused research, including studies for the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers and various aspects of research and evaluation for the Dallas Arts Learning Initiative.
Steven graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University and earned his doctorate while on fellowship at Rutgers University, where he studied under the tutelage of composer Charles Wuorinen. He has received grants, awards, and fellowships from the Sudler, Manzella, Richter, and Mellon Foundations; Rutgers University; Princeton University; the University of Pennsylvania; the Eagleton Institute; the Center for Arts and Cultural Policy Studies; the Center for the Critical Analysis of Contemporary Culture; ERM Media; the National Association of Composers; the Fisher Foundation; and the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP). He is presently pursuing a master’s degree at the Fels Institute of Government of the University of Pennsylvania.
